Chinese New Year used to be so fun and worth awaiting for.. but as i grow older it aint so anymore.. mixed feelings here ne.. but i guess as we grow older the balance will tip towards the negative side.. I shall hereby call out the names of the winning categories..
Most endearing moment: To see your 1 year old nephew finally not having his face scrunched up and wail when he sees yours.
Most anticipated moment: When relatives reach for their bags when they see you coming. (to distribute ang pows)
Most embarrassing moment: When relatives reach for their bags when they see you coming. (to distribute ang pows to the kids around you before they hand you one after contemplating if your legible for it)
Most exciting moment: When CNY is (finally) over and you get to count all the money you received VS When its finally time to go to your mother's uncle's cousin's 4 storey bungalow (tie)
Most unbelievable moment: When one relative didnt mention that you put on weight.
Most anguishing moment: When all other relatives mentioned that you put on weight VS When you find out that 90% of your notes are purple. (tie)
Most sia suay moment: When you head straight to the buffet table before rmbring that you havent spoken to the host VS When you realise on the 3rd day of visiting that all your cousins of the same age group have avoided visiting because they werent as thick skinned as to not know that ang pow collecting aint for them anymore. (tie)
